[ Exclusive service in Cartagena de Indias ]

Your car, treated like the only one

Mechanics, body work, paint and detailing under one roof, with one person following your car from start to finish and a quote you approve before we begin.

Why AutoSanMarq

A shop that explains what it does

Most bad experiences at a repair shop aren't about the repair: they're about not knowing what was done to the car, or why the bill grew. Here it works the other way round. First we inspect, then we tell you what we found, and only when you approve does anyone touch the car.

Quote first

Labour and parts itemised separately, in writing. If anything else turns up, we call before doing it.

Real diagnostics

Scanner, live data and a road test. We replace the part that failed, not the one next to it.

Everything in one place

Mechanics, body work, paint and detailing under one roof. No driving your car across town.

Vehicle systems

Tap a point on the car

Each system has its own checklist. Tap a number on the diagram — or open the panel beside it — to see what we check.

Timing, gaskets, cylinder head, water pump and radiator. In Cartagena's heat an overheating engine doesn't forgive: we check temperature, cooling fan and leaks before the head warps.

  • Timing and belts
  • Oil and coolant leaks
  • Thermostat and radiator
  • Compression and timing

Pads, discs, drums, cylinders, hoses and fluid. We measure the disc with a gauge: if it's within spec we resurface it, if not we replace it. Never by eye.

  • Disc and pad thickness
  • Leaks in cylinders and hoses
  • Bleeding and DOT fluid
  • Parking brake

Shocks, springs, bushings, tie rods, ball joints and links. Rattles over potholes and a car that pulls to one side almost always start here.

  • Shocks and mounts
  • Tie rods and ball joints
  • Control arm and sway bar bushings
  • Steering rack and pump

Manual or automatic gearbox, clutch, CV joints and mounts. Changing the gearbox oil on time costs a fraction of repairing it.

  • Gearbox oil
  • Clutch kit
  • CV joints and boots
  • Engine and gearbox mounts

Battery, alternator, starter, lights, fuses and wiring. We measure parasitic draw to find what's eating the battery while the car sleeps.

  • Battery and alternator charge
  • Starter motor
  • Parasitic draw and grounds
  • Lights and fuses

Compressor, condenser, evaporator, cabin filter and refrigerant charge. If it barely cools, we look for the leak first: recharging over a leak is throwing money away.

  • High and low side pressures
  • Leak detection with dye
  • Cabin filter
  • Cooling fan

Manifold, catalytic converter, oxygen sensors, muffler and mounts. What sounds different at the back usually shows up in fuel consumption at the front.

  • Manifold leaks
  • Catalytic converter and O2 sensors
  • Muffler and mounts
  • Emissions for the roadworthiness test

Panel work, filler, primer, colour by code and a final polish. We blend into the neighbouring panels so the repair doesn't show in sunlight.

  • Straightening and filler
  • Colour matched by code
  • Paint and clear coat
  • Polishing and sealing

The shop

We look after cars that can't be half-done

A high-end car doesn't forgive "close enough": not a torque set by feel, not a similar-looking part, not a polish with the wrong pad. At AutoSanMarq we work with the manufacturer's manual open, with tools of the exact size, and with the calm of people who know that what's on the lift is worth more than the rush.

  • Factory specs and torque figures, not from memory
  • Original parts or certified equivalents, with an invoice
  • Photos of the work and of the parts we remove, on your phone
  • Handed over washed, polished and matching the quote to the peso

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us most

Anything missing? Message us on WhatsApp and we'll answer, no strings attached. Your car's progress, with photos, doesn't go through WhatsApp: it reaches you through our shop management system.

Ask on WhatsApp
Do I need an appointment or can I just come by?

You can come straight to the shop in Marbella, but if you message us on WhatsApp first we'll hold a slot and you skip the wait. For body work and paint it's worth booking: the car stays with us for several days.

Will you send me photos of my car on WhatsApp?

No. Photos and work progress don't go through WhatsApp: they live in our shop management system, which notifies you every time your vehicle moves to a new stage, with the photos and what was done. WhatsApp is for booking, quoting and answering questions.

Do you quote before starting the work?

Always. We inspect the car, send you a quote with labour and parts itemised separately, and only start once you approve it. If anything else comes up during the job, we call you before doing it.

Can I bring my own parts?

Yes. We'll tell you straight if the part is right for your vehicle. In that case our warranty covers our labour, not the part you bring.

What warranty do you give?

We stand behind the labour on everything we do and the parts we install, according to each manufacturer's warranty. The terms are written on your invoice.

Do you work on every make?

We work on light vehicles from the makes most common in Cartagena. If your car needs a specific tool or scanner we don't have, we'll tell you right away instead of wasting your day.

Where is the shop?

In the Marbella neighbourhood, Carrera 3 # 46B-120, Cartagena de Indias, next to the Berlinas Tour bus company. The map on the contact page shows the exact spot so you get there without circling around.
